Occasionally it happens that a uredo-form will infect a species where it ordinarily fails.

They are attached to the filaments of the mycelium, as in Uredo segetum.

The disc which has produced the Uredo spores now gives rise to the resting spores, and so the cycle is complete.

The spores of both these species of Uredo may be found in most kinds of flour and bread, especially in those of inferior quality.
