According to Braun the segmental cords in Reptilia are buds from the outer walls of the Malpighian bodies.

A special internal differentiation of the zona radiata is apparently found (Eimer) in many Reptilia.

Its name tells us that we have a form intermediate between the classes Reptilia and Aves.

In the reptilia it is more distinct, since to this class belong the ophidia, (serpents,) an order peculiarly noxious.

Of the other reptilia should be noted two species of lizard of a genus (Amblyrhynchus) confined to the Galapagos Islands.
