What do we care for Marxism or monarchism, the resurrection of Holy Russia or the Idea of the Common Fate?

This is one of the too frequent cases where, in our enlightened polity, democracy plays wantonly into the hands of monarchism.

Will history prove to me that monarchism is not and has not been from the first the bitter enemy of the people?
